None of our neighbors should have to choose between purchasing medicine, buying sufficient food, or keeping their aging parents, or their children warm.
It is incumbent upon all of us to care for those who need our help.

We are at mid-winter now, and are so very grateful to the people of Hopkinton and Contoocook for physically giving of their time and financially contributing to this fund... as it is able to give some measure of warmth to friends and neighbors.
Many community hands contributed, prepared, and took out 25 cords of firewood to neighbors here and a few in other towns. Five cords were set up to be accessed by anyone with emergency needs during the cold weather that is upon us.
To date there has been:
- 7 deliveries of oil (more this year because several people who have health issues, must change from the fumes of burning wood to the use of oil furnaces)
- 10 deliveries of propane
- assistance on 1 electric bill
- 3 deliveries of kerosene
- 2 deliveries of wood pellets ( one ton each)
- 1 furnace cleaning
- 12 cords of wood delivered
We have also, thankfully, been able to make a donation to all five of our churches to assist them in their mission to keep people warm throughout cold and hard times. Also, the Contoocook Carry Community Fund has continued to assist the Town's Human Services Department with a donation to its winter Fuel Assistance Fund.
There have been rewarding moments when we have also been able to help some deserving people in Hillsborough, Warner, and Concord.
AREN'T WE SO VERY FORTUNATE, THIS COMMUNITY PASSIONATELY BELIEVES THAT IF IT IS IN OUR POWER TO PREVENT SOMEONE FROM ENDURING A COLD NIGHT...THEN WE PROUDLY DO JUST THAT.
Best Wishes to all in the second half of our New Hampshire winter...STAY TUNED...
